 IKOT-EKPENE COUNCIL BOSS ASSURES WORKERS OF IMPROVED WELFARE, CONDUCIVE WORKING ENVIRONMENT




The Chairman, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Transition Committee, Sir John Cleton Etim has reassured workers in the unified local government system in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of his commitment to ensuring an improved welfare and a conducive environment for workers in the local government.


Sir Etim gave the assurance yesterday, during an enlarged meeting he held with the leadership and members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Ikot Ekpene Chapter, led the Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Akpan Ekanem.


Also in attendance at the meeting which held at the Old Council Secretariat were the Secretary of Council, Hon. Barr. Godswill Ituen, management staff of the Council, led by the Head of Local Government Service Dr. Mrs. Eno Akpa, 


The Ikot-Ekpene Council boss had appealed to workers in the Council to cooperate with him and members of the Transition Committee for a smooth and harmonious working environment, peaceful coexistence, assuring that he would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that what's due to the workers were given to them.


The TC Chairman who described the Head Of Service as his mother, acknowledged the Staff and members of the union for their continuous support, hard work and dedication in the discharge of their duties, 


Responding, the Head Of Local Government Service in Ikot-Ekpene, Dr (Mrs) Eno Akpa, appreciated the leadership style of the Transition Chairman, while assuring him of worker's cooperation and support to ensure him discharge his duties.


The NULGE Chairman, Comr. Emmanuel Akpan Ekanem, on his part thanked Governor Umo Eno for giving Ikot-Ekpene the person of Sir. John Cleton Etim as Transition Committee Chairman, and assured of the Union's cooperation through out his tenure.


Other members of the Union who spoke, applauded the TC Chairman for his kind gesture and for the new year gift to workers.
