FEDPUKA ACTING RECTOR GETS ROYAL BLESSINGS
The acting Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ukana in Akwa Ibom State,Dr.(Mrs) Mercy Ebong says she will continue to ensure that the institution will continue to provide technical and practical-oriented training to meet the manpower requirements for the industrial, commercial and economic development of Nigeria.
Dr. Ebong stated this during a familiarity visit to the Clan Head of Ukana West Clan and Village Heads of the host communities of the Polytechnic at the Palace of the Clan Head of Ukana West Clan weekend.
In her words," we will continue to ensure that the Polytechnic will continue to provide technical and practical oriented training to meet the manpower requirement for the industrial,
commercial and economic development of Nigeria " she stressed.
Dr. Ebong said she was at the palace to appreciate the royal fathers for their continuous support to the Polytechnic and solicited more support for the institution in the new year. She assured that the Polytechnic was poised to jumpstart the development of her host communities.
The Clan Head of Ukana West Clan, His Highness,Okuku Sylvanus Obot Udoekanem JP appreciated the acting Rector for the homage to the royal fathers and prayed God to endow Dr. Mercy Ebong with wisdom and all she needs to discharge her duties creditably.
The royal father expressed satisfaction over the milestones recorded by the immediate past administration of the Polytechnic which Dr. Ebong was part of.
Okuku Sylvanus Obot Udoekanem reassured the Polytechnic boss of their readiness to partner the Polytechnic in whatever areas necessary.
Other royal fathers who spoke during the visit were Chief Michael George Akpabio of Ukana Ikot Ntuen and Chief Victor Ntuen of Ikot Ngwoh both commended the acting Rector for honouring the the royal fathers and charged her to continue to work for the growth and development of the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana.
In a vote of thanks, the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic Ukana, Dr Okon Ekanem commended the Clan Head and other royal fathers for their interest and contributions to the peace and development of the institution. According to the Registrar, the achievements recorded in the Polytechnic in the last five years was to some extent attributed to the support and goodwill of the monarchs. He said the Polytechnic will continue to be grateful to the host communities for the peace and cooperation the Polytechnic enjoys.
Highpoint of the visit witnessed a special prayer of blessing for the Acting Rector, management and the Polytechnic community by the royal fathers.
