 CATHOLIC BISHOP OF IKOT-EKPENE PAYS EPISCOPAL VISIT TO TRANSITION COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN


...hails Gov. Umo Eno on appointment






The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene, Most Rev. Camilus Umoh, today, Friday 5th January, 2024 paid an episcopal visit to the Chairman,Ikot Ekpene Transition Committee,Sir John Cleton Etim in his office.


The Bishop in his words, admonished the Council Chairman to always put God first, be prayerful and urged him seek counsel from elders, if he must succeed in office.


Most Rev. Umoh hailed the Akwa Ibom State Govermor, Pastor Umo Eno for appointing Sir. John Cleton Etim as the Chairman, Transition Committee for Ikot Ekpene, and conveyed warm wishes onbehalf of the Catholic Church to the Governor and the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikot-Ekpene respectively. He noted that Sir John Etim was the first Catholic to assume the position of chairman of the premier local government.


He prayed for the peace of Ikot Ekpene, while also offering bishopric blessings on the Council Chairman and his team.


Receiving the Catholic Bishop at the Ikot-Ekpene Council Secretariat, the Transition Committee Chairman, Sir. John Cleton Etim, thanked  His Lordship for the episcopal visit, and prayed for the peace and prosperity of Ikot Ekpene. 


He assured the Bishop that with God on his side, Ikot Ekpene would witness economic growth, continuous peace and development under his watch, as he was poised to continue the development process from where his predecessors stopped.


The Ikot Ekpene Council boss pledged his continous support for the ecumenical body within and outside  Ikot Ekpene. 


Also in attendance during the visit was the Director of Finance, Ikot Ekpene, Mr. Idongesit T. Udoh, The Parish President of Ifuho Parish, Hon. Emmanuel Essiet, and the Bishop’s secretary, among others.
